Mike Pierro
Mike started seriously playing guitar when he was in high school. He had moved to a new town and as high school bands usually go the question was asked "does anyone play guitar"? Wanting to fit in, he jumped at the opportunity. At the time "Ramblin Man" was a popular song. One of his new friends said that isn't even the best song on the album, don't buy the single buy the album. After buying the album and listening to Jessica and Southbound, Mike was hooked on the Allman Brothers. Fillmore East was the next buy and that cemented his love for Southern Rock. He then started listening to Skynyrd, Outlaws and Marshall Tucker. Progressing on the guitar he was ready for his first purchase of a good guitar. (Les Paul Custom 1978), which he still plays for more than 30 years.
Mike played in numerous local bands in North Jersey and also Second Helping in Rockland County, NY. The love of southern rock music brought him to answer an ad for a guitarist and is the newest member of Southern Steel.
